Rockwell East is located in the heart of London and easily accessible from all major transport links.

By Air

Most international airlines fly into London Heathrow (30km away), London Gatwick (49km away) or London Stansted (58km away). London City Airport is becoming increasingly busy and is very close by – only (7km away) and 25 minutes by rail.

Budget airlines land at London Luton and Southend both of which have trainlines running into Greater London.

From the Airport

Taxis cost approximately £50 from London City Airport , £60 from London Heathrow and £70 from London Gatwick. However, taxis are not your only option; London has excellent transport links from all airports into the centre of the city.

From London Heathrow you can take the express train service into Paddington Station or the underground tube (Piccadilly Line) into the centre of London. The Docklands Light Railway (known as the DLR) stops at Tower Hill, which is a short walk from Rockwell East. The Gatwick Express train arrives at Victoria Station in 30 Minutes and the Stansted Express takes 45-60 minutes arriving at Liverpool Street Station.

By Train

Rail services to London from elsewhere in the UK arrive at Paddington, Marylebone and King’s Cross St Pancras, Euston, Waterloo, Liverpool Street and Victoria Stations. All of which are an easy underground tube ride to Rockwell East. International Eurostar trains from Paris, Lille, Brussels and Amsterdam arrive at King’s Cross St Pancras Station.

By Car

Driving around London can be stressful and parking can be expensive and difficult to find. Most people who live in the city rely on the public transport network or taxis to get around. However, should you choose to drive we recommend parking at nearby Tower Hill NCP.

Getting Around London

Buses and Underground lines are the most commonly used modes of transport in London. There are multiple Underground stations just a short walk from Rockwell East: Tower Gateway is the closest station, giving access to the DLR and putting you just one stop from Bank station in the heart of the City of London.

Alternatively, Aldgate and Aldgate East underground stations offer access to the Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, District and Circle lines, presenting almost unparalleled connectivity to the rest of London for guests staying at Rockwell East. For the cheapest fare buy a pre-paid Oyster card or you can use a bank card that enables contactless payment. This form of payment is valid across all public transport services as well as Overground trains in the London area. It should be noted that London buses do not accept cash anymore, so a prepaid oyster card or contactless bank card is essential!

London’s public bicycle share scheme, officially known as Santander Cycles but known locally as ‘Boris Bikes’, offer a quick and cheap means of getting around the city. Just £2 will enable you to rent the bikes for a half hour at a time for a whole 24 hour period. Docking stations can be found across central London, and you can find multiple stations just a few minutes walk from Rockwell East.
